At MSWatchdog, we’re a group of programmers and tech entrepreneurs working together to create an technological organization that will help secure children, women and others who wish to participate in social networks but wish to do so safely without the risk of random obscene propositions.

Our goals are: first, to secure the profile to the highest degree possible with the specific site settings and, second, to introduce interactive elements that create accountibility online and allow unmistakable identification of repeat predators. A process we’ve labeled social fingerprinting.

After a signficant amount of money and time invested we’ve already created an application with basic functionality for myspace. You can see that under the “Tool” link above. Enter any myspace username and password there and it will secure it to the highest levels currently possible on myspace. However, we need to get in touch with well known activists and others in the community who can guide the organization.

As parents, we’re very familiar with the need, but not familiar with the network of activists already volunteering in this regard.

If you’d like to help, please don’t be shy.  We’ve got a lot of work to do, but even one predator stopped is worth our efforts.  Any help is very much appreciated!
